11 Plus Verbal Reasoning
Verbal reasoning test practice that builds real understanding.
Verbal reasoning is rarely taught in primary schools, yet it appears in many 11+ exams. I teach each question type step by step, then build speed and accuracy through verbal reasoning test practice and full mock tests, so your child walks into the exam knowing exactly what to expect.
What Is 11 Plus Verbal Reasoning?
11 plus verbal reasoning tests how well a child can think with words. Questions ask pupils to spot patterns in letters and words, crack codes, complete analogies, find hidden words and solve short logic problems. GL Assessment papers draw on a recognised set of around 21 question types, and each one can be learned with the right method.

Verbal Reasoning Taught as Thinking, Not Tricks
About me
In 13 years of teaching I have seen many children work through pages of verbal reasoning questions and still get the same types wrong. Practice without a method only builds speed at guessing.
So I teach the reasoning first. For each question type your child learns what it is asking, a clear way to solve it, and the common traps. Then we practise until the method becomes automatic.
Verbal reasoning also grows from vocabulary, so I weave in reading and word work. It helps in the exam and makes children stronger readers too.
Why Strategy Beats Repetition
A thousand practice questions will not help if a child is guessing. One clear method, understood and practised, will carry them through every version of that question.

A clear route from first introduction to exam-ready, with progress tracked at every stage.

Diagnostic
Test
A short paper shows which question types are secure and which need work.

Question-Type
Lessons
Each type taught with a clear, repeatable method.

Test
Practice
Mixed verbal reasoning test practice to build speed and accuracy.

Mock
Tests
Timed verbal reasoning mock tests in real exam format.
Verbal Reasoning Mock Tests
A verbal reasoning mock test shows how your child performs when the clock is running. I set papers in the format your target schools use, mark them in detail and go through every mistake together, so each mock becomes a lesson.
We track both speed and accuracy over time. Children learn when to move on from a hard question and come back to it, which is often worth more marks than learning a new topic.
